Rooted in Understanding, Growing Through Knowledge
Our mission is to create a space where financial learning feels approachable, relevant, and free from pressure.
Return HomeOur Story
Bodhi Ledger was founded in early 2021 by a small group of educators and financial professionals who had grown weary of the typical approach to financial services in Thailand. Too often, they witnessed adults in their 40s, 50s, and beyond being spoken to in ways that assumed no prior knowledge yet offered no patience for questions. The prevailing model seemed to prioritize quick transactions over genuine understanding.
The founding team recognized that many people approaching mid-life transitions had accumulated life wisdom but were navigating a financial landscape that had changed considerably since their earlier years. Children were becoming independent, careers were shifting, retirement was no longer a distant concept, and insurance and tax considerations had grown more complex. What was needed, they felt, was not another sales-driven seminar but a thoughtful educational environment.
Starting with a single budgeting course held in a modest rented space near Phaya Thai, the response was encouraging. Participants appreciated the unhurried pace, the willingness to revisit concepts, and the absence of product pitches. Within a year, two additional courses were developed, each shaped by feedback from participants who wanted to deepen their understanding of insurance and tax planning.
Today, Bodhi Ledger operates from its location on Ratchawithi Road, offering three core courses that remain true to the original vision: education without pressure, content relevant to the Thai context, and respect for the life context that participants bring with them. The name itself reflects this philosophy — the banyan tree, or bodhi, is known for its deep roots and sheltering canopy, qualities that mirror the grounded, supportive approach to financial literacy the team aims to provide.

Regulatory Compliance
All course content aligns with current Thai financial regulations and consumer protection guidelines. We do not provide personalized financial advice or sell financial products.
Our Values and Approach
Patient Education
We believe that understanding takes time. Courses are paced to allow for questions, reflection, and review. Participants are never rushed through material or made to feel that their questions are unwelcome. This patient approach acknowledges that financial concepts can be unfamiliar territory for many adults who did not grow up with formal financial education.
Contextual Relevance
Every example, case study, and scenario used in courses draws from the Thai financial landscape. Retirement fund structures, tax deduction categories, insurance product types, and regulatory requirements are all specific to Thailand. This ensures that what participants learn can be directly applied to their own financial decisions.
Respectful Communication
Participants are treated as capable adults navigating complex life transitions. Instructors avoid condescending language and recognize that many participants bring considerable life wisdom to the classroom, even if financial terminology is new to them. The learning environment is collaborative rather than hierarchical.
Independence in Decision-Making
The goal of each course is to equip participants with knowledge they can use to make their own informed decisions. We do not recommend specific products, services, or providers. Instead, we provide frameworks for evaluating options based on individual circumstances and priorities.
Ongoing Improvement
Financial regulations change, participant needs evolve, and teaching methods improve with practice. Bodhi Ledger views course development as an ongoing process rather than a finished product. Regular reviews, instructor training, and participant feedback all contribute to refining how courses are structured and delivered.
